Blow dryer versus hooded hair dryer?

Why is it when I blow dry my hair with a blow dryer each hair is thick and damaged looking. Afterwards, I have to use a flat iron to get the desired look. Then when I use a hooded dryer the hair is bouncy thin and healthy looking? Blow dryer versus hooded hair dryer?
A blow dryer tends to send out way too much heat and it depends on which setting and attachment you have on the blow dryer which causes damage. You have to use a heat protectant when you blow dry your hair, if not you will get the puffy thick and damage look and feel. With the hair dryer it blows out heat but not directly on the hair and you don't need an attachment to comb your hair out as it drys. Try not to use too much heat because it will cause breakage.
